Housed in a home that was built at the beginning of the 1900’s, the Madeline Center provides a comprehensive counseling program that includes outpatient counseling and the Madeline Centre, Inc. program, which provides:
- intensive in-home therapy to high risk children in their home,
- therapeutic day treatment to children in schools
- specialized program for children with autism and special behavioral problems
- mental health supports for adults who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization
The therapeutic model used by the program is called “The Madeline Centre Model: Building Bridges for Healthy Relationships” and was developed by Jon Winder. It is a love-based approach to working with children that emphasizes the importance of building healthy relationships within the family rather than focusing specifically on behavior.
Walking into the Madeline Center you immediately get a sense of peace and serenity. It’s home-like quality is refreshing and welcoming.
